Get to Know… Luke Thorsen
Luke Thorsen shares his thoughts about his career in marketing, his favourite movies and passion for Boxing.

Where are you from originally and where do you live now?
I’m based in Milton Keynes and have lived there most my life.
What was your first job?
My first job was as a nightclub promoter. The main duties were standing in the freezing cold and handing out flyers for drinks!
What job(s) did you have before joining Dawsongroup?
In terms of marketing experience. I worked in the healthcare sector for 5 years, I then moved to work in a marketing agency. The main specialties were in organic social media, PPC and content creation. I also did some freelance work as a Sportswriter.
When did you join Dawsongroup?
I joined Dawsongroup in June 2025.
What’s your current job and what does it involve?
My current job role is Marketing Executive for Dawsongroup truck and trailer and Dawsondirect. This includes organising promotional events, creating content, email marketing, managing the websites and PPC.
What’s been the highlight of your career?
The highlight of my career has been mainly to do with the progress of my career. I felt like I started my marketing career a bit later in life than I would have liked, but I am proud of the career steps I’ve made and how my skills as a marketer have developed.
Who or what has been the main influence in your career?
My son Dallas is my main motivation in terms of wanting to progress in my career.
What do you do in your spare time?
My main interest outside of work would be Boxing. I used to train MMA. I train in Bedford and Leighton Buzzard. When I was doing MMA I specialised in Wrestling and Grappling.
In terms of Boxing, my favourite boxers are Nigel Benn and Tommy Morrison.
Im also a huge fan of West Ham United. COYI.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself
I originally studied acting and have appeared in a few short films. I also did a bit of modelling when I was younger.
What’s on your bucket list?
I would like to take a road trip across America. I really want to explore the southern states. I would like to go to Tennessee and also Texas.
What’s your favourite book or film – or genre?
I am a huge fan of movies. My favourite films include Rocky, Vanilla Sky, Alfie (1966).
In terms of reading and books. I read a lot about Norse/Viking History. I have Danish and Scottish heritage so I love reading what my ancestors got up to.
What annoys you in life?
People who take life and themselves too seriously.
What’s your biggest regret?
I would have liked to have started a combat sport like MMA/Boxing earlier in life to have been able to potentially have made a career out of it.
